I continue to be amazed by the beauty of the desert landscape. Almost every time we venture out on a new route, we discover something new and unique.

Yesterday, we took a day trip to go retrieve our mail. (Since we have enjoyed Slab City so much, we didn’t get moved to Quartzite as soon as we thought we would, so our mail was waiting there — about 2 1/2 hours away.) While Quartzite itself was unimpressive (in my humble opinion), along the way and back, I found myself taking numerous photos of the mountains that seem to surround the desert valley. And just when I would decide I could put the camera away, around a bend or over the next rise, the landscape offered up something new that made me pick it up again…more mountains, dunes, rock canyon walls, the shores of the Salton Sea…contrasts in topography so interesting I feel like I will never tire of the experience.

  1. Salton Sea area? Thanks for the link to your interesting blog that you provided on Yahoo!RV Repair. And have an enjoyable Easter wherever you are. The idea of looking for Easter eggs!
Glad you enjoyed your stay at the sea. Postings on the ‘net describe mostly good about the area. I’d like to visit there. And most of the West. Especially geological features.

  2. Thanks Samg and welcome aboard. Please subscribe if you haven’t already and you’ll automatically get an Email whenever we post something new. The Salton Sea area isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but we LOVE the area and will be revisiting it every winter from now on.
